Fundraising Director
Responsibilities:
As the Fundraising Director for SAU Dance Marathon, you oversee fundraising efforts within the St. Ambrose University community and the Quad City area. Key responsibilities include planning canning drives, food nights, and the annual fundraising Gala, along with organizing other fundraisers throughout the year. You’ll work closely with individuals, organizations, professors, administration, and local businesses to ensure successful fundraising initiatives that support the event.
Public Relations & Marketing Director
Responsibilities:
As the Public Relations & Marketing Director for SAU Dance Marathon, you’ll manage all internal and external communications for the organization. Key responsibilities include creating communication plans, overseeing social media and website platforms, ensuring on-brand messaging and graphic design, managing apparel orders, and serving as the main spokesperson and media contact. Collaborating with the executive team, your focus will be on effective communication to drive the success of the Dance Marathon. Creativity, attention to detail, and strategic planning are essential for your role.
Family Relations Director
Responsibilities:
As the Family Relations Director for SAU Dance Marathon, you’ll oversee all communication with our 61 Miracle Families and coordinate family events and activities. Key responsibilities include building strong relationships with Miracle Families who are currently or have been treated at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital, ensuring they feel supported and engaged with the Dance Marathon community.
Morale Director
Responsibilities:
As the Morale Director for SAU Dance Marathon, you’ll oversee all Morale Captains and keep the energy high on campus throughout the year. Key responsibilities include organizing recruitment and retention events, as well as creating the Morale Dance. You’ll ensure a positive and motivated atmosphere leading up to the event, fostering excitement and engagement within the Dance Marathon community.
Big Event Operations Director
Responsibilities:
As the Big Event Operations Director for SAU Dance Marathon, you’ll manage year-round planning and oversee only Big Event. Key responsibilities include coordinating the BE schedule, venue setup, decorating, catering, and scheduling. You’ll manage volunteers, ensure a smooth event flow, and work on making the event a success. Collaborating with other members on the executive board, your only focus will be to make sure Big Event is a success in April 2026. Time management, creative problem-solving, and attention to detail are essential in ensuring that Big Event is a memorable and impactful experience.
Sponsorship Director
Responsibilities:
As the Sponsorship Director for SAU Dance Marathon, you’ll manage relationships with local businesses and corporate sponsors and oversee grant applications. Key responsibilities include securing cash or in-kind donations from community partners to meet committee needs and support the Dance Marathon. Working closely with the team, your focus will be on building and maintaining sponsor relationships to ensure the event’s success. Strong negotiation skills and community engagement are key to your role.
Alumni and Community Outreach Director
Responsibilities:
As the Community Outreach Director for SAU Dance Marathon, you’ll coordinate high school mini dance marathons and the Miracle Miles event. Your role involves raising awareness of this organization in the community and fostering understanding and support for its cause. Engages with our growing alumni and graduate student pool. Oversees outreach to each unique student group and helps collect, and distribute information for St. Ambrose University Dance Marathon. Creates alumni fundraising and meets up events. As well as alumni retention programs and newsletters.
Recruitment and Dancer Relations Director
Responsibilities:
As the Recruitment and Dancer Relations Director for SAU Dance Marathon, you’ll play a key leadership role in growing and sustaining our movement. You'll be responsible for each stage of a dancer's involvement—from recruiting new participants and nurturing relationships with current dancers to stewardship—ensuring they feel valued, supported, and connected to our cause every step of the way. You will work closely with the Morale Captains to create high-energy, inclusive experiences that keep dancers engaged and inspired throughout the year. Through strategic outreach and meaningful engagement, you’ll foster a vibrant community that drives involvement, celebrates commitment, and strengthens lasting support for our Miracle Families.
Special Events Director
Responsibilities:
​As the Special Events Director for SAU Dance Marathon, you’ll manage the planning and execution of all special events, including Fall and Spring Push Days and Kids Can’t Wait to Skate. Key responsibilities include coordinating the event schedules, booking venues, arranging catering, decorations, and other event logistics. You’ll oversee volunteers, ensuring each event runs smoothly, and work closely with the executive board to make each special event a success. Time management, creative problem-solving, and attention to detail are essential in ensuring that both Push Days and Kids Can’t Wait to Skate are memorable and impactful experiences.
